Life is simple, but we insist on making it complicated, Confucius says. We are loading our lives and bodies with unnecessary additives, chemicals…and material stuff every day and seem to forget what life is really about. Food should be just simple and healthy as well – plant-based whole foods. Nothing more, nothing less.

There are more cafes in Hong Kong that have started to cater to the health-conscious and Westernized crowds the last couple of years. Simply Life and its subsidiary such as Petite Cafe are among the pioneers for this trend. They have several branches all over Hong Kong. Personally I’m a fan of their bountiful and colorful salads that cost HK$52 (U$6.60) for a small box with a choice 3-4 different kinds of salad or HK$72 (US$9.20) for a bigger portion of 5-6 choices. I also like their blueberry smoothie made with soy milk for HK$35 (US$4.50). I didn’t know it was part of the Maxim’s Group until I checked out their website. Bravo.

When I went there last week, they were serving quinoa rice, roasted pumpkins, cucumber & poppy seed, and other colorful salads.

Good and healthy vegan food at an affordable price. This is how life should be.
