Rome is not built in one day.
Many people in Hong Kong have asked me how I became vegan and what they should do if they consider going vegetarian or vegan. My answer was I jumped right into it. If you expect big results, you take big steps. Even though I made the decision to go vegan cold turkey, temptations of food that I grew up with and discouragements from people who didn’t understand or attack plant-based diet had made my transition difficult. I continued to stick to my gun, after more than three years. I have never felt or looked this good before. My masseuse asked me what I did to be so slim. My circles of female friends were curious about what I used on my skin. My guy friends were wondering where I got my protein to sustain my workout. I did not use any special products or supplements. All I did was eating a plant-based diet and doing regular exercises. So I know it is working.
I know some vegetarians and vegans who would take it step by step. They started to go vegetarian once a week, then slowly increased the frequency of their plant-based meals. Some of them went vegetarian for a few years before they made their plunge into veganism. Whatever method you choose is up to you. It is extremely hard to live a completely vegan lifestyle on this planet. You may find animal products in part of your clothing, skincare or household goods. It isn’t about all or nothing. We strive to live as animal-free as we could and every little bit you do helps your health, animals and the environment.
Set goals. Take baby steps. Devise a game plan and look for a support system. It is much easier to break down the long distance into manageable shorter milestones.

I’m glad the information on my blog helps. Good luck to the transition.
Currently on the “I’ll Try It” step. Your information and guidance have helped and I have been researching and planning daily menus. I’ve slowly been cutting out meat during February and starting in March I go veggie. I’ve even convinced a couple of friends to do it with me so we even have a small support group!
