Most people don’t care much about what they put in their bodies. Organic, vegan or natural ingredients aren’t as important as pure pleasure to the senses. Some people learned after a big health crisis, like me, while others continue to think they are invincible, for some reason. While some diseases such as heart diseases, diabetes and cancer could be healed and reversed with a carefully planned plant-based diet and exercise routine, most people don’t have the luck to be taken care by holistic doctors who understand nutrition science. So when the health crisis hits them, it’s usually too late to do anything. It doesn’t have to be that way and it really shouldn’t. I did relearn my food pyramid, how to shop and what to cook, but it’s a skill that you carry with you the whole life. I have never felt and looked better before. Thanks to a natural plant-based diet and regular exercise. One natural food product that I buy religiously to complement my workout is Clif Bar.

Clif Builder's Natural Protein Bar - Chocolate

Clif Builder’s Bar contains 20 grams of whole proteins and 23 vitamins and minerals with no hydrogenated oils, artificial sweeters or trans fat. My all-time favorite flavor is their chocolate one. It’s rich, fulfilling, crispy yet chewy. Best of all, it’s vegan. Its main ingredients include soy protein isolate, beet juice concentrate, organic brown rice syrup, organic evaporated cane juice, organic rolled oat, unsweetened chocolate, cocoa etc. I usually have one of these after my gym workout. The 270 calories will replenish the energy and nutrients I need for my next activity of the day. My vegan bodybuilder friends and I are true fans and advocates of Clif Bar.

The company does carry other lines of organic and healthy nutrition bars like Luna and Clif Crunch but for bodybuilders and active people, I really think Builder’s Bar is the choice. You can buy it from grocery stores and health shops for less than US$2 in the U.S. but the price is doubled in Hong Kong, unfortunately. I have also bought around 20 different kinds of vegan nutrition bars to try out. Once I have tried them all, I’ll write about my opinion about them.

You simply have to find a company that works as hard as your body does.
