High tea is a British tradition but you can find all sorts of afternoon tea sets in Hong Kong. I was in the mood for something Chinese today so I dropped by Ocean Empire 海皇粥店 trying their tea set. There are quite a few things vegetarians and vegans can eat in this congee chain store. For HK$28 (US$3.60), I got a set with ricesheet roll, sweet red bean soup and deep fried sesame ball (yes, I have my weakness too). The sesame ball was in perfect sphere shape but they offered the service to cut it up so it’s easier for customers to share and eat. You could add sesame, peanut sauce and sweet hoisin sauce on the ricesheet roll, which I did. Service was fast and food was decent.

If animals’ internal organs don’t sit too well with you, do not study the menu as you will see items like blood  jelly congee that is quite popular with the locals. Consider yourself warned.
