The first two F-22A Raptors with Holloman (HO) markings arrived today on Holloman AFB, New Mexico. The 49th Fighter Wing is one of only three wings to receive the F-22. Col. Jeffrey Harrigian, the 49th Fighter Wing commander, and Lt. Col. Mike Hernandez flew the aircraft during the ceremony near Hangar 301.

Thanks for the question. My site is mainly to share information about New Mexico and is not really to promote a specific company. If you have interesting stories to share, please feel free to add a link though.

speaking of interesting stories to share. I was at Holloman in the 80’s and remember that a bunch of HIV (Aids) infected monkeys broke containment at Holloman air force base and fled to Alamo canyon and some were spotted by the railroad tressel by cloudcroft years later. My understanding is that these chimpanzese were infected by the Reses monkey within a year of the escape and the chimpanzese are now the only ones left harrassing the bikers in the higher cooler climates and the Reses monkeys maintained their ground down and above the town of Alamogordo. Oscurro range, a dead monkey was found there in the early nineties. Holloman Aero Medical had a similar problem back in the space era. I’m just wondering if there have been any sightings as of late. I last heard of a rumor dealing with a night creature in the tiberon area by the local police and was told by a hunter in the Rio Penasco area by sunspot that he really thought a wildcat he shot at actually swung from some treelimbs high from the ground cover. He did not think he hit it, but reported the incident anyway. Hmmmmmm just wondering about the one that got away.
