Food is a big part of the Chinese culture. I have been missing a lot of authentic Chinese food since I came to Alamogordo. Luckily, there is a Chinese restaurant here that cooks real Chinese food. I went to Bamboo Garden on White Sands Boulevard tonight and it happened that the owner made 豉油雞 (soy sauce chicken). This item is not on the menu, but I was in luck! The photo was taken at the restaurant, and not something downloaded from the website. This looked like a dish that came from a famous Chinese restaurant. It tasted as good as it looked. If you go to Bamboo Garden, try their steamed fish flounder or spicy deep fried fish flounder also…they are yummy!

I love traditional chinese food. Especially if it is healthy. I wrote a post about healthy chinese food on one of my blogs.
