New resources for homeschool children in Alamogordo

For those parents who are planning on homeschooling your children or those who are already doing so, there are some good news for you!  There is a new homeschool center called S*M*A*R*T Kids Etc. that is going to open this month at the Granada Center.  It provides different classes such as public speaking, Spanish, Japanese, music and art that will supplement your teaching at home.  Some classes are unique and are only available at the center, such as Chinese calligraphy.  These classes give your children a great opportunity to interact with other kids as well as to learn some new skills.  Let them be smart kids and contact the center at smartkidsetc@yahoo.com or call Molly at 439-8484.

  1. I was wondering how I can get in touch with the home school scene here in Alamogordo, NM. I just moved here with my family.

  2. Melissa, you can contact Dr. Jann Hunter or her secretary Andrea Higgins of Curriculum and Instruction of Alamogordo Public Schools at (575) 812-6034. They handle home schooling in the school district.

  3. Thank you will do.

  4. I am looking for a homeschool support group in the Alamogordo area. Could you provide me with any information about homeschooling in this area and any groups?

    • Betsy, sorry for the late reply. I’m not sure about any groups, but you can contact Dr. Jann Hunter, Curriculum and Instruction of Alamogordo Public Schools. She used to have a homeschool packet and other information available for parents who want to consider homeschooling. She may still have it now. Her office number is (575) 812-6034.

      Angie
